Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receive credit files from branches and other credit departments for recommendation and approval of disbursement of credits, draft/review security documentation for the credit files received and ensure timely registration of the securities thereof within the time allowed under the relevant laws.
- Receive debt recovery instructions from branches and in consultation with the Company Secretary determine, implement and supervise recovery action in line with the Department’s approved recovery procedures. Prepare monthly status reports on all pending cases or cases in the process of recovery for submission to and discussion in the Risk Management Meeting.
- For cases to be handled by Legal Department, prepare instructions to Auctioneers, Debt collectors and/or Advocates for recovery of debts on behalf of the Bank and on instruction represent Bank on sale of the same.
- Receive applications to the Bank for bank bids/performance guarantees/bonds and prepare the same and the relevant security documents and ensure their registration.
- Compile securities to be forwarded to External Advocates for registration and the fees in respect of each batch, ensure accuracy thereof and equitable and reasonable distribution of securities amongst appointed and performing External Advocates. Care should be taken to avoid compromise.
- Keep and maintain the department file of instructions to External Advocates for registration of securities, follow up Advocates for prompt return of securities delivered and or in their custody, and report long outstanding cases and non-performing Advocates to Company Secretary for action.
- Prepare, review and renew agreements (to be) entered into by the Bank for the receipt of funding and collateral for the Bank’s provision of lending to a specific category of persons/ social group or economic activity.
- Assisting the Company Secretary in coordinating Board of Directors, Board Committees, and Shareholders’ meetings and draft Minutes and Activity Reports thereof.
