Reach Out Mbuya Community Health Initiative (ROM) is a Faith and Community-based organization providing holistic care to extremely vulnerable people living with HIV/AIDS. ROM holistically focuses on the body, mind, family, and community wellbeing.
Job Summary: The counselor will provide ongoing psycho-social support interventions to clients, their families, and community members to ensure holistic HIV/AIDS care and strengthen the uptake of all service packages delivered within ROM-supported facilities and communities
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the implementation of HIV Testing Services at Reach-Out facilities, in the communities and clients’ homes.
- Ensure timely submission of counselling reports with narratives, and accountability.
- Carry out support supervision to counsellors at the different ROM sites and take the lead in their capacity building, and ensure timely appraisals are done.
- Ensure all Reach-Out clients are supported to adhere well to their drugs.
- Ensure all counselling registers and other records are well filled and updated, and data entry into EMR is done in real time.
- Ensure all clients tested HIV positive through counselling are validated and linked to care, counselling services provided to those with psychosocial issues and home visits done where necessary.
- Participate in the drawing and implementation of medical clinic schedules, work plans, and budgets documenting best practices and lessons learned on specific program indicators and projects
- Take the lead in planning and organizing the different support groups within counselling and ensure all counselling programs have SOPs.
- Support and observe the safeguarding culture in the organization regularly documenting and reporting identified and potential safeguarding issues to the HR.
- Ensure health, safety, and security in your area of operation, as you promote the vision, mission, and values of Reach Out Mbuya.
- Any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Degree in Guidance and Counselling, Social Sciences, SWASA or related field.
- Training in HIV/AIDS counselling modules from a recognized institution
