Job Summary: The Corporate Banker, Custody Services Operations will provide support in the execution of custody services operations within the Investor Services Unit. The incumbent will provide exceptional customer service to Investor Services clients.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Preparation of customer Reports; daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly.
- Responsible for preparation of invoices and confirmation that all revenue has been collected from all custody clients.
- Manage risk through monitoring and complying with internal operational procedures and staying abreast with market risk trends.
- Maintain good relationships with investment managers, administrators, stockbrokers, CDSC, CMA, USE & Registrars as per established Service Level Agreements.
- Support the Manager Investor Services during unit audits and regulatory inspections.
- Ensure checking and validation of the units Banking Operations reports on a daily basis vii. Facilitate settlement of CDSC transactions for corporate clients. viii. Processing of withdrawal/pension payments for custody clients.
- Ensure accurate preparation and submission of regulatory returns within the set timelines.
- Manage safe custody documents.
Daily Responsibilities
- Retail Equity Operations
- Facilitate settlement of CDSC transactions for Retail and Corporate clients.
- Capture securities transactions and funds transfer transactions in T24, and custody plus
- Manage on boarding of new businesses, terminated mandates and transitions.
- Manage risk through monitoring and complying with internal operational procedures e.g. validation of clearing reports, reconciliation of suspense accounts
- Maintain good business relationships with customers, investment managers and other service providers and respond to queries within stipulated timeliness.
- Oversee general custody banking operations.
- Ensure preparation, validation and timely dispatch of customers’ monthly and quarterly holdings reports.
- Manage safe custody documents.
Other Duties
- Process enhancements arising from implementation of new custody systems.
- Act as a back up staff for business continuity.
- Perform any other duty that may be delegated from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in a Business Related field is required.
- Professional Qualifications in a Business Related Field is an added advantage
- A Masters Degree in Business Administration is an added advantage
- Three years of experience is required.
