Job Title:   Merchant Acquirer (80 No Experience A’ Level Jobs)   

Organisation: Simba Telecom

Duty Station:  Kampala, Uganda

 

About US:

What started out as Patrick and Carol working late into the night in their first shop in Uganda turned into the largest airtime distributor, mobile phone retailer, and mobile money distributor in East Africa. While Simba Telecom achieved continuous success in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania, Patrick chose to continue to follow the entrepreneurial philosophy he had developed at a young age: find a real customer need, take a calculated risk, and deliver the best possible quality of goods and service possible. This entrepreneurial spirit coupled with the understanding that the Group needed to find “new waves” to ride, led Simba Group to make key strategic investments in a number of areas, including property development, power generation, agriculture, micro- finance and media.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Enroll small businesses (shops, bars, salons, kiosks, market vendors, roadside food vendors etc) to get MTN merchant code
  • Train business operators/ owners on how to use the MTN merchant code to transact
  • Build and maintain relationships with business operators/owners
  • Follow up and ensure that the MTN merchant codes are actively used
  • Prospect and create a pipeline of potential customers
  • Continuously enlighten small business owners and operators on the benefits of using the MTN merchant codes
  • Give after-sale services
  • Ensure that the Merchant businesses are fully branded and visible





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold an A’ level certificate
  • Ability to speak local languages
