Job Summary: The Site Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that the project progresses smoothly, adheres to quality standards, meets project goals, and is according to the design and specifications. This role will involve assisting senior engineers and project managers in various tasks related to planning, coordination, supervision, and quality control on the construction site.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project plans to understand the scope of work.
- Collaborate with the project team to develop construction schedules, work sequences, and resource allocation.
- Assist in developing construction schedules, work plans, and budgets in coordination with the project manager.
- Coordinate with different departments, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project progress.
- Oversee daily construction activities to ensure they are carried out in accordance with project plans and quality standards.
- Monitor progress and provide regular updates to the project manager regarding work completed and any potential delays or issues.
- Implement quality control measures to identify and address defects, non-conformities, and deviations from plans.
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on the construction site by adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
- Analyse technical challenges and provide solutions to overcome construction-related issues that may arise during the project.
- Collaborate with the design team and project manager to resolve any discrepancies or conflicts in plans.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of construction progress, site activities, and any incidents or changes.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- At least five years of proven work experience in civil works and construction operations.
- Proficiency in construction drawings, specifications, and project management tools.
- In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and OSHA guidelines.
- Good communication skills for presenting technical data, both in writing and orally, to colleagues from your discipline and other professionals
- Proficiency in relevant software tools such as AutoCAD, MS Office suite, and project management software.
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as to take individual responsibility and make decisions.
- Ability to apply scientific reasoning to industrial situations.
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and take on new responsibilities.
- Ability to prioritize and plan effectively to meet deadlines and targets.
