Contract Length: 12 months (with possibility of extension up to 36 months)
Start Date: November 2023 to be hired on annual basis
About US:
Partners for Community Health and Development Organisation (PACHEDO) is a development organization duly registered as NGO with Uganda NGO bureau and has been working in Uganda since 2007. PACHEDO is operational in the Districts of Gulu, , Lamwo, Amuru Adjumani, Yumbe, Terego and Kole Districts implementing programs in four main sectors of Health/Nutrition, Protection; Food Security and Livelihoods; and climate change/Disaster Risk Reduction; with the Head office located in Gulu City.
About NILE Project:
Through one of her donors- JICA- Japan International Cooperation Agency and NAM -Network for Action against Malnutrition, PACHEDO has received funding for a 36 months’ Nutrition Improvement & Livelihood Empowerment – (NILE) Project to be implemented in Adjumani refugee settlements (Ayilo I & II) and surrounding sub-counties of Dzaipi and Pakele in Adjumani district west Nile sub-region. PACHEDO is therefore actively seeking to recruit dynamic, highly motivated, Qualified and Competent persons to fill the positions indicated below for the NILE Project.
Job Summary: The MEAL Assistant will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of the MEAL tasks in the project area setting. He/she will Lead in developing MEAL tools, data collection, analysis, orientation of staff and ensure effective reporting and ensure proper documentation and in addition, facilitate field-level learning events, and capture, document, and disseminate lessons learned for internal and external purposes.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop project database and monitoring tools including IPTT, detailed implementation plans, reporting tools etc
- Generate statistical reports on key project indicators
- Monitor progress of implementation against set targets.
- Orient project staff on the use of tools
- Take lead in strengthening the capacity of the MCHN Supervisors, Care Group Promoters/lead mothers etc. and other staff on the use of project toolsin the project designated areas of operation.
- Organise review meetings for sharing of project performance reports.
- Carry out routine field visits so as to document, monitor and provide technical support to field staff during the data collection process as well as observing and providing guidance on other various project activities such as community education and sensitization, supporting communities to improve their livelihoods, etc.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by the project coordinator, Programme Officer health and Nutrition, the NILE project manager/assistant (NAM – partner institutions) or any other member of the SMT.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- College/university degree in Monitoring and Evaluation studies, Bachelor of Science in computer technology, Bachelor of statistics, Bachelor of IT, social sciences, demography, development planning, mathematics, or similar field
- A post graduate diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation, Public health and Nutrition is an added advantage.
- Minimum of Two years working in monitoring & evaluation of development and humanitarian programs preferred.
- Vibrant personal relationship with Christ.
- Proficiency in creating data entry and analysis templates in Epi-Info, MS Access, SPSS, or other software.
- Past experience preferable with a busy NGO using MEAL system such as KOBO etc will be added advantage.
- Experience in Humanitarian context, implementation with an NGO and conducting Nutrition surveys and collecting meaningful data is desirable.
- Excellent Computer knowledge Microsoft office programs and relevant health data collection tools and data base such as Kobo.
- Excellent communications skills of English and local language both oral and written are desired.
