About US:

Tujijenge Financial Services Ltd, a growing Microfinance institution operating in Eastern region with 4 branches at Busia, Mbale, Soroti and Namayingo.

 

Job Summary:  The Information and Communications Technology Officer will enable the delivery of effective and secure ICT systems and contributing to development and implementation of ICT standards and policies.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors.
  • New product creation as per requirement from the Business team.
  • Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy, and integrity.
  • Create and manage database reports as needed by the organization
  • Support core banking software together with the vendor to add value to the business
  • Oversight and technical assistant to head office and branch staff related to IT issues
  • Ensure proper maintenance of computers peripherals, printer, networking, internet & e-mail, security, data backup, and recovery
  • Assist to install software, network, internet, email, printer and updating antivirus for all head office and branches
  • Follow up, maintenance support IT system at Head Office and Branches
  • Train and guide user on using new software, PC maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Develop, implement, and train users IT policies
  • Perform other requirements analyses and studies assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology/Systems, or related field.
  • At least two years of working experience in the IT field for MFIs/Banks
  • Good understanding of banking/MFI
  • Good knowledge of Windows Server and Linux.
  • Experience with programming languages such as SQL
  • Experience in administering, managing, and tuning databases.
  • Experience in Quest banking software would be an added advantage.
  • Experience with programming languages such as SQL
  • Excellent knowledge of information technology.
  • Good knowledge in installation and maintenance of network, and computer-related equipment.
  • A people person, hardworking, honest well organized and reliable
  • An excellent team player, self -starter with ability to inspire and motivate staff
  • Highly result oriented person.
  • Analytical, Critical and strategic thinking
  • Ability to work independently and a good team member.
  • Fluent in the English language, both spoken and written.
