National Medical Stores is an autonomous Corporation that was established by an Act of Parliament in 1993. Our mandate is to Procure, Store and Distribute medicines and other medical supplies to health facilities.
Job Summary: The Quality Analyst will be responsible for implementation of, and adherence to the required national and international standards and practices in the process of testing samples, management and control of data and results
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyse allocated samples of medicines and medical supplies according to approved methods, data, and report test results
- Write technical reports such as analytical test reports, trend analysis, validation and verification reports, qualification reports among others.
- Implement Quality Management System processes such as documentation, complaint management, deviations, safety, investigation of non-conforming work, change management, implementation of corrective and preventive action, risk management and audits etc.
- Carry out analytical method validation, verification, transfer, and Laboratory proficiency tests
- Participate in the preparation of specifications and initiation of procurement for glassware, chemicals & reagents, Chemical reference substances, equipment, and laboratory consumables in accordance with approved procedures
- Responsible for accuracy of statistical tables (e.g. excel validations), data listings and report text and contribute to the interpretation and publication of the findings
- Collaborate with different teams and stakeholders within and outside of NMS
- Identify any risks noted during execution of duties and formally report to the immediate supervisor.
- Any other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold an Honors Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Bio-medical Laboratory Technology, or related field
- At least two years of working experience in a related field.
- Proficiency in quality Control testing of medicines or medical devices and related products
- Good Knowledge of Good practices for Quality Control Laboratories.
- Proven understanding of the Laboratory Quality Management Systems as per ISO/IEC 17025:2017
- Analytical
