The Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC), established by the Equal Opportunities Act of 2007 is mandated to provide a framework for redressing imbalances, which exist against the marginalized groups while promoting equal opportunities for all.
Job Summary: The Communication Officer will implement communication, information dissemination and public relations programmes and activities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- To arrange press conferences and other public appearances;
- To organize tours, visits, exhibitions and other promotional events;
- To assemble and disseminate press and other media releases publication;
- To implement public relations and information dissemination programmes and activities;
- To provide technical guidance in responding to information related concerns and queries from the public;
- To update a repository of records on press releases and other relevant communication materials;
- To research on specific issues on relevant media plant forms;
- To liaise with other Government communication entities for appropriate information dissemination;
- To arrange and facilitate translation of key communication messages into different languages;
- To maintain proper updated documentation on both print and electronic media;
- Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time;
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold an Honors Bachelors’ Degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Communication studies or Public relations or any other related field from a recognized institution.
