Job Title:  Community Outreach Worker (9 Fresher NGO Jobs)

IsraAID is an Israel-based non-governmental organization that was founded in 2001 and has since its inception worked in emergency and long-term development settings in over 54 countries. IsraAID’s mission is to support people affected by humanitarian crises by partnering with local communities around the world to provide urgent aid, assist recovery, and reduce the risk of future disasters. IsraAID has operated in Uganda since 2016.

 

Job Summary:   The Community Outreach Worker will identify and report cases of concern or needs of the community and coordinate appropriate responses to address identified needs. To collaborate with community structures and organizations to implement psychosocial programs effectively.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work according to a weekly workplan to support CFS activities and door-to-door home visits
  • Develop structured activity workplans for the implementation of CFS activities and door-to-door engagements.
  • Accurate data collection and reporting
  • Work with Project Assistants to identify, refer and follow up cases to other organisations or institutions
  • Participate in routine coordination as scheduled by the supervisors
  • Performs other related duties as required




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Diploma in Social Work and Social Administration/humanity or any other related field.
  • Should be a native of the community
  • One year of experience in the relevant field will be an added asset
  • Knowledge of the relevant procedures, rules, regulations and guidelines of CFS is an added advantage.
  • Required knowledge, skills and abilities
  • Conversant with the local languages (Kiswahili, Kinyarwanda, Somali, Ekirundi)
  • Independent thinker and Team player
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good facilitation and problem solving skills
  • Flexibility to adapt to project, donor, staffing and other changes that may occur throughout the project.
  • No previous or current legal convictions relating to the working with children and adults.
