Job Summary:  Pesapal is seeking to recruit a Risk Assurance Officer who will play a crucial role in evaluating, monitoring, and mitigating risks within the organization. If you’re a proactive, results-oriented professional with a passion for maintaining the stability and compliance of an organization you are the person we are looking for you!

 

The job holder is responsible for assessing the effectiveness of internal controls, compliance processes, and risk management frameworks to ensure the organization operates in a secure, compliant, and efficient manner.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities across various business processes.
  • Provide actionable recommendations to mitigate identified risks and improve control measures.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to gather information and insights for risk analysis.
  • Work with the customer support team to address customer questions and concerns regarding an investigation.
  • Conduct fraud checks as required and respond to questions and discussion threads relating to the fraud checks.
  • Develop and implement compliance testing procedures to assess adherence to standards.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of new controls to address emerging risks.
  • Prepare reports on identified high-risk and potentially fraudulent accounts and/or transactions.
  • Prepare chargebacks analysis report.
  • Daily review and disposition of transactions flagged for investigation.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance Risk Management, or a related field
  • Three years of experience in a similar function
  • Proficiency in risk management software, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations, compliance frameworks, and governance standards
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data, identify trends, variances, and anomalies, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Proficiency in conducting comprehensive risk assessments and evaluating their potential impact.
  • Thoroughness in reviewing and documenting risk assessment findings and control evaluations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex risk concepts clearly.
