Job Summary: The Network Infrastructure Administrator will administer and manage of the Bank’s ICT infrastructure that comprises computer equipment, LAN & WAN in line with the Bank’s business plan & ICT Policy.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain documentation of Hardware systems
- To manage the Banks IT systems and platforms
- Install, Configure and deploy PC & Server software & hardware.
- To plan, monitor and report on the administration and administration of preventive maintenance, servicing and repair of computer equipment for the bank in line with the preventive maintenance schedule.
- Analyze user needs and recommend appropriate hardware.
- Analyze information to determine, recommend and plan layout including type of computers and peripheral equipment modifications.
- Monitor functioning of the equipment and make necessary modifications to ensure system operates in conformance with specifications and reports.
- Monitor IT infrastructure inclusive retrieval and monitoring of system logs
- Write detained functional specifications that document the hardware development process and support hardware introduction.
- Recommend the necessary equipment to control dust, temperature and humidity in area of core systems/ Data Centre.
- Periodically services the hardware including outsourcing of maintenance for services, PCs & UPS, Electrical equipment etc.
- To manage the Banks IT asset inventory and to make sure assets meet the recommended standards.
- Running end of day, system and data backup processes and archiving of data.
- To supervise installations, movement, addition & changes of the Bank’s hardware like printers, computers, scanners etc. in line with the Bank’s ICT Policy & procedures
- To maintain update and track inventory of communications equipment’s in line with the Bank’s ICT Asset Standards Policy
- Ensure all the computers are in good condition with the latest anti-virus patches updates and scans done regularly.
- Support all the hardware issues with the effective TAT and ensure there are Zero interruption in the service delivery.
- Update knowledge and skills to keep up with rapid advancements in computer technology.
- Configuration and setup of network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls
- Monitor the network links performance.
- Monitor disaster recovery site and ensure al device are running.
- Ensure efficient and proper network architectures are in place.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a B.Sc. in Computer Science / Information Technology or degree bin electronics/ Communication
- Three to five years of demonstrated experience in hardware/ Network technical role with supervisory experience skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of the various network typos used by the Bank (LAN & WAN)
- Understanding of the Bandwidth requirements of the Bank
- Knowledge of the network installation techniques
- Ability to troubleshoot the common network problems.
- Knowledge of the required tools to work on the networks.
- Knowledge of the different hardware used on the network.
- Understanding of the different equipment models
- Knowledge of how to deal with users as you take time to work on their faulty equipment.
- Ability to solve common computer user problems.
- Knowledge of the bank policy about proven like maintenance
