Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) is the mother organization and governing body of all Muslims in Uganda with 12.1% of the Ugandan Population. The Body unifies about 9,071,671 Muslims in Uganda.
Job Summary: The Legal Officer will serve as the focal liaison person at UMSC on legal matters
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- To handle both internal and external legal concerns
- To handle and corporate matters in UMSC and providing legal advice to management and any department of UMSC
- Monitor and advise management on all legal affairs within UMSC to added control weaknesses and other inefficiency
- Perform routine risk assessments and identity control in place to mitigate them
- Identity control gaps and opportunities for improvement
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in law from a recognized institution
- An advocate of the High Court of Uganda and all courts subordinate to thereunder
- Demonstrable work experience
- Proof of Membership to a professional body.
- Compute racy
- Excellent communication skills
- High degree of personal initiatives and innovations
- High degree of professionalism and integrity
- Adherence to the values of UMSO and amic teachings
- In depth knowledge of the las applicable
- Working knowledge of more than five official languages is an added advantage
