Job Summary: Pesapal is seeking to recruit a self-drive and hands-on Human Resource officer to support our exciting growth! If you are enthusiastic to implement a variety of human resource programs and dedicated to ensuring they run smoothly and effectively, you are the person we are searching for!
The Human Resource Officer is responsible for providing day –to-day Human Resource and Administrative support in the various human resources and functions, which include talent acquisition, managing employee records, learning and development, performance monitoring and employee counseling to enhance delivery of services within the Company.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of Company’s HR and Admin policies.
- Maintain and update the staff database and ensure HR operational processes run smoothly including benefits enrollment and termination.
- Assist in Human Resource Planning to determine acquisition level both short and long –
- Conduct employee onboarding and help organize training & development initiatives keep track of the probationary evaluations.
- Assist in populating staff performance metrics, including uploading performance management cycles, supporting the performance evaluation processes.
- Help improve work processes and engage in HR operational quality improvement projects and activities.
- Ensure employees are well-equipped and continue learning to enhance their level of productivity, by following up with managers on training plans.
- Ensure files are uploaded on HRIS system are up to date, categorized and filled according to Company’s requirements.
- Managing employee relations, including employee grievances and disciplinaries in compliance with employment regulations.
- Prepare monthly reports on HR metrics.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, Business Administration or an equivalent.
- Professional Qualification course in Human Resources is a plus.
- Three to five years of practical experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in Uganda labor laws.
- Strong organization and record management skills.
- Problem-solving skills and resourceful thinking.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to adapt well to change and successfully set and adjust priorities as needed.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and analytically driven.
- Good organization, communication, and planning skills.
