The Bank was formerly known as Cairo International Bank owned by the three leading Egyptian Banks namely; Banque Du Caire, Bank Misr and National Bank of Egypt. In 2019, it became a fully owned subsidiary of Banque Du Caire (BDC). The shareholder consolidation in 2019 was on the back of expanding its presence across Africa whilst providing an entry point into the COMESA market.
Job Summary: The Reconciliation Officer will be in charge of evaluating and recommending sound credit prospects that fit within the credit expectations in line with credit policy and procedures.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review Branch cash and ATM reconciliations.
- Timely resolution of ATM transactions and complaints.
- Carry out BOU reconciliation and share the report with the Finance management team for review on a daily basis.
- Monthly review and clearance of branch suspense accounts.
- Perform daily inter-branch reconciliations and report any exceptions to the financial controller/CFO and responsible branch. All exceptions are to be closed on the same day.
- Investigate and follow up on all outstanding items on the reconciliation statements with responsible persons and various departments.
- Perform ATM reconciliation and advise finance of payables/receivables from the vendor.
- Daily reconciliation of Nostro accounts.
- Preparation of ageing report for suspense accounts, trade payables and receivables and recommend write-offs to the financial controller for overdue items.
- Automate and develop reconciliation processes for new products and processes.
- Key contact person for audit confirmations for all interbank-related transactions.
- Perform reconciliations of the General ledger to the trial balance.
- Any other duties assigned by your supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business Administration or Accounting.
- CPA/ACCA is an added advantage
- Two years of experience in Banking
- Basic Banking knowledge
- Good mathematical skills, Analytical mind, good attention to detail, problem-solving
- Good time management skills and the ability to multi-task work under pressure
- Proficiency in computer applications
- Teamwork
- Fast Learn
