Job Summary:  Watoto is seeking to recruit a Clinical Services Manager to spearhead the delivery of primary health care services in the Watoto Children’s villages.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Healthcare planning and service delivery

  • Plan the delivery of health care services according to departmental strategies and goals and evaluate the effectiveness.
  • Participate in budget planning and monitoring.
  • Coordinate and evaluate the delivery of healthcare for Watoto community and outreach community.
  • Partnership engagements for effective healthcare delivery.
  • Coordinate external patient referrals.
  • Conduct patient consultations.

Supervision of medical staff

  • Provide direct supervision to the following roles: Clinic coordinators, Laboratory Coordinator, dental officer, nutritionist, head nurses- ensure performance according to Job descriptions and department work plans.
  • Monitor the performance and roles of ail medical staff.
  • Facilitate recruitment and interviewing for positions within medical department in conjunction with Team Leader
  • Conduct staff appraisals.
  • Ensure that staff undergo training and development relevant to their roles.
  • Train and mentor medical staff
  • Ensure compliance to policies and Standard Operating Procedures, including continual development of medical policies and guidelines.
  • Disseminate organizational decisions and any other useful information to your team as required.
  • Prepare periodic reports in line with the management.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant for the role should hold at least a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery.
  • Master’s degree in public health is an added advantage.
  • At least three years of working experience in a large organisation in a similar role.
  • A team player, result oriented, self – motivated, able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Must possess good managerial, M&E, administrative and leadership skills to ensure you achieve departmental objectives and goals and contribute towards realization of Watoto vision.
  • Willingness to regularly travel and work in hard-to-reach areas.
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural setting.
