Job Title:    Finance Planning Analyst

Organisation: Uganda National Airlines Company Limited

Duty Station: Entebbe, Uganda

Reports to: Manager Financial Planning and Analysis

 

About US:

Uganda Airlines is the flag carrier of Uganda. The company is a revival of the older Uganda Airlines which operated from 1977 until 2001. It began flying in August 2019.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and consolidate financial forecasts and budgets.
  • Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators across departments and the entire organization.
  • Analyze data to facilitate understanding of drivers and identification of opportunities.
  • Analyze financial results, and distill and synthesize key messages to business partners.
  • Analyze profit and loss statements and prepare reports and recommendations for review and submission by the manager FP&A.
  • Analyze, interpret, and communicate cost and expense variances to management.
  • Anticipate actions and provide value add to projects and other initiatives to the organization at large.
  • Assist in capital spend analysis, providing detailed budget performance to senior management.
  • Monitor project performance by performing post-implementation reviews and tracking delivery against agreed Key performance indicators.
  • Assist in the monthly accounting and closing process.
  • Perform price analysis and communicate optimal pricing for passenger, charters, and cargo businesses.
  • Complete ad-hoc requests across all product lines, maintain data models and long-term financial projections
  • Support individual product lines in selected financial analysis projects.
  • Assist in the development of strategic plans, annual operating plans, and budgets of the respective departments.
  • Build and analyze medium and long-term plans aligned to strategy.
  • Create and maintain business KPI performance reporting, dashboards and value-added analysis.
  • Create financial models to improve operational budgeting and sensitivity analysis.
  • Assist in the creation of new product business cases, and develop financial models and reports to improve forecasting and reporting processes.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant for the Uganda Airlines Finance Planning Analyst job must hold a degree in Finance, business administration, statistics or related field.
  • Professional Accounting qualification is an added advantage (CA/CPA/CMA/CFA).
  • Two to three years of experience in a similar position. Airline experience is an added advantage
  • Good presentation skills utilizing Microsoft Office tools and any others as may be required.
  • Good communication and leadership skills to drive ownership and accountability.
  • Possess good business acumen.
