Exim Bank (Uganda) (EBU), commonly known as Exim Bank, is a commercial bank in Uganda. It is one of the commercial banks licensed by the Bank of Uganda (BOU), the central bank and national banking regulator.

 

Job Summary:  The Security Supervisor supports in safeguarding/protecting the entire Bank’s property, prevent incidents of robbery or burglary against the Bank by coordinating physical safety of the Bank’s employees, customers, and property. Enforcing security procedures among the guard staff. Coordinate support for maintenance of Bank’s all security equipment including CCTVs, fire protection and detection systems, intrusion alarms, fire alarms, smoke detectors, fire extinguishers.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Enforcing adherence to Bank’s security regulations and guidelines as stipulated in the security policy.
  • Identify and prevent attempts of illegal activities, such as forgeries and embezzlement.
  • Supervising security guards outsourced by the Bank wherever they are deployed.
  • Act as a liaison between the Bank and Law enforcement.
  • Support in designing systems and procedures to protect Bank staff, Customers, and their property.
  • Provide support in verification of security invoices as may be delegated from time to time to ensure value for money.
  • Support security evaluations and risk assessment.
  • Organize trainings related to security controls/safety and risk assessment for all Branches and departments.
  • Support disciplinary proceedings in cases related to fraud and other criminal cases affecting the Bank in investigations and follow up with Police/Security Agencies.
  • Supervise CIT Team & monitor security equipment (Radio, Alarms, CCTV, access control, fire panels, metal detectors)
  • Support security audits/survey of the Bank/Branches with the help of contracted Agencies.
  • Prepare and compile monthly security reports to have robust security at the Bank premises.
  • Ensure that Security personnel/guards are constantly guided on how to perform their duties in a professional manner.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a field related to Emergency Management.
  • Membership of the relevant recognized security Professional Body will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a Security Organization or similar position.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment to drive results.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of relevant statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Flexibility to react effectively to unforeseen circumstances.
