Job Summary: The Retail Inventory Manager works with the Head of Operations and the Supply Chain Manager to ensure adequate levels of inventory are available across all 80+ retail locations operated by ENGIE Energy Access Uganda. The position holder works in close collaboration with Service Center Manager and the Commercial Strategy Manager to minimize stock loss through implementation of inventory control (audit, stock count, documentation of movement) and inventory management (storage conditions, access control, etc.) policies. He or she makes sure that relevant team members in the Customer Experience and Commercial teams are trained to understand their roles and responsibilities in managing inventory and are held accountable for lost stock. The Retail Inventory Manager also leads reconciliation of inventory stock counts against the ERP system in close collaboration with the Finance team. He or She manages a team of 4 Inventory Control Specialists. The role requires frequent travel to remote part of Uganda.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and oversee the implementation of monthly stock count and audits and reconcile results against expected inventory data in the inventory management system.
- Reconcile field inventory stock count against ERP system data monthly, identify and investigate discrepancies, and report results to management within deadline.
- Collaborate with operations, CX, and sales team leaders and Heads of Department to improve stock management, safety and security policies and processes, especially those around audits to ensure transparency, accuracy, and communication of results.
- Monitor inventory availability across the retail network identify stock out risk and take preventive action to reduce risk or minimize impact.
- Develop bi-monthly distribution plans to all retail locations (i.e., decide which products are to be supplied in what quantity at what location) considering sales forecast, inventory on hand, and supply.
- Collaborate with the Head of Operations as well as the Sales and the Customer Experience teams to regularly review standards and processes for managing inventory at retail location.
- Ensure that all sales and service center representatives are trained regularly in inventory control policies and in their roles and responsibilities in inventory management.
- Ensure that the Retail Inventory Team provides ongoing and responsive technical support to inventory controllers to facilitate the movement of products and maximize sales
- Hold Commercial and CX team members accountable for lost or missing inventory by implementing the Inventory Loss Policy and imposing penalties when appropriate.
- Communicate regularly on the implementation of inventory control measures (i.e., stock count process, incentives, penalties)

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a University degree from a recognized institution, relevant technical qualification a plus
- Two years of experience in managing teams
- Three years of experience in managing delivery and/or inventory
- Prior experience in operating multiple sites is preferred
- Self-motivated and exemplified company’s values

- Outstanding written and verbal communications skills
- Attention to detail
- Outstanding work ethics and integrity
- Language(s): English
- Computer skills – High competency in Microsoft Office products and interest in learning higher level data analysis tools (ex – SQL & Tableau)
