Job Title:   Civil Works & Maintenance Superintendent

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Preparation of SOW, and initial technical PQ and HSE evaluations of bidders during the call for tender process.
• Evaluate Civil Works contractors through SQM, ensure that all Logistics operations are done and comply with the contract.
• Supervising, assigning responsibilities, managing and executing civil or construction related activities in accordance with the contract terms & conditions or other related reference areas such as HSE, cost, quality and time being the main qualifying areas.
• Addressing all technical matters and where the competence is lacking then efforts are applied to source the right competence.
• Ensuring that HSE performance & qualifications related to our activities are not compromised more so the HSE Golden Rules.
• Project fiscal activities including budgeting, reporting and auditing. Minimizing cost and avoiding overruns & expenditures.
• Review and answer to Design and Construction Contractor queries.
• Attend site works realization and review contractor deliverables from the progress / realization and civil engineering standpoint of view.
• Provide Civil Engineering Supervision with technical supports in reviewing Construction Engineering.
• Deliverables and in field surveys and in field engineering coordination with Contractor and Subcontractors to ensure that Civil and Structural activities in the field are done as per the technical requirements and with acceptable quality.
• To ensure that the civil works activities are performed in full compliance with company policies, rules, General Specifications, Scope of Works, terms and conditions of the signed contract(s), and National regulations.
• Provide technical assistance to the Project team / internal teams and ensure that the Project documentation reflects the challenges already identified.
• Prepare the technical planning programs using primavera or MS Project, quality and cost control templates and implementation of construction management tools,
• Review of drawings and evaluation of BOQ’s prepared by consultant and contractor.
• Prepare for the set-up and mobilization of Company’s civil works operations programs.
• Review Contractor deliverables for Civil and Structural Engineering.
• Review and answer to Design and Construction Contractor queries.
• Follow up on Inspections and Tests carried out by Suppliers and Contractors for Civil and Structural Scope.
• Review and approve civil and structural works on site (technical acceptance).

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• The applicant must hold a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil /Structural engineering.
• Minimum of 8/10 years’ experience in Civil Engineering of Building and Civil / Structural.
• An analytical mind a holistic approach, tenacity, ability to demonstrate good leadership within a team to produce a safe, efficient well run through operations.
• Ability to adapt, to analyse problems and communicate with many entities.
• Knowledge / understanding of current legislation pertaining to Environmental Protection, Health and Safety at Work, Waste Management.
• Ability to work on own initiative, remaining self-confident and solid under pressure, demonstrating logical thought patterns, high degree of organizational ability and be an effective communicator at all levels.
• Confident user of AutoCAD, MS Office products and OS Windows.
• Self-motivated, autonomous and proactive in carrying out the activities of the job.
• Always adheres to the values and principles of the Company.
• Ability to work under pressure and stressing conditions, ability to adapt, analyses problems and communicates with all entities, analytical mind, rigorous, holistic approach and tenacity. Able to write Standing Instructions and Procedures.
• Active team player with ability to manage and integrate with others in different functions and environment.
