Job Title: Junior Accountant (Fresher Jobs)

Lumen Trading company was founded in 2019 with focused area of operation in East Africa. We founded the company with the ambition of meeting all the food and construction needs of our clients across the globe. In addition to serving the consumer needs, we are aiming at improving the livelihood of small hold farmers in East Africa. We have setup strong presence at the farm gate for educating the farmers about good agricultural practices and procure their produce without wastage or value loss.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
- Update accounts receivable and issue invoices
- Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations
- Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines
- Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc. as assigned
- Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
- Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports
- Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings
- Assist with other accounting projects
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor’s degree in the similar discipline of this job.
- Good understanding on URA procedure
- Good Understanding on VAT, WHT and income Tax laws as per URA.
- Excellent knowledge on Microsoft Office, Tally or any accounting ERP.
- An excellent communicator both orally and written.
- The candidate should have a never ending passion to research and skill development
