Job Title:       Finance Officer (UNHCR Jobs)

About US:

Artolution is a global non-profit organization that seeks to strengthen communities experiencing crisis through collaborative art-making. We identify, train, and support teams of local teaching artists to facilitate collaborative, educational arts programming in crisis-affected communities, providing a sustainable and long-lasting social impact on the next generation of citizens.

 

Artolution is currently implementing a contract with UNHCR in locations across Kampala. We are facilitating arts-based programming with refugees in various community settings. We are seeking a part-time finance officer for the duration of this contract, with a strong potential to extend the contract and expand the scope.

 

This position entails providing financial management and reporting, and ensuring all UNHCR contract guidelines are followed.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to UNHCR policies and guidelines
  • Prepare and develop financial reports as required by management
  • Preparing vouchers according to UNHCR rules and guidelines, reviews the classification and completeness of all vouchers/receipts for related projects
  • Collect, organize and file all supporting documents
  • Promote and share ideas for improvement of financial efficiency
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly Budget vs. Actuals reports
  • Monitor budget and cash flow
  • Prepare budgets for new projects
  • Profound experience in preparation of purchase orders and service contracts and invoice follow up.




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold relevant qualifications
  • At least three years of experience working as finance officer/ manager
  • Experience in the humanitarian/ development sector
  • Experience with accounting systems
  • Time management skills
  • Ability to work in a small team as the only finance officer
