Job Title:       Coldroom Manager

Organisation: Xclusive Cuttings (U) Limited

Duty Station: Kiwenda, Wakiso, Uganda

Reports to: Export and Logistics Manager

Xclusive is a company in Uganda producing cuttings for the worldwide market. We consist of 3 departments: Xclusive Young Plants, Kalanchoe and Chrysanthemum. Our total production area is about 11 hectares, and we work together with 600 colleagues every day to optimally serve our customers. Job Summary:  We are looking for Coldroom Manager. Do you have knowledge of cold chain processes? Can you manage the operation of all Logistical processes at the Coldroom? We offer an interesting job with a lot of responsibility and autonomy in which you are to manage the production process and ensure the proper utilization of the available resources (human capital and materials) and to operate and execute an excellent operational process to meet company objectives, standards and customer specifications and requirements readily for export.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Managing and monitoring the post- harvest process of all harvested products including timely delivery of cuttings from greenhouse to cold stores, scanning and registration of cuttings, storing under right temperatures in respective locations.
• Planning, organising, and monitoring the packing process of the products and checking that right procedures are being followed according to the customer specifications.
• Ensuring shipment consignment and packaged and ready before the shipping day.
• Monitoring the storage temperatures for the different products at different times
• Supervising the loading process of the cold truck making sure boxes are well arranged and stacked in correct order and pattern.
• Training, coaching, and evaluating cold room team to ensure proper processes and procedures for high performance and quality.
• Monitoring and evaluating the allocated budgets.
• Timely and accurate reporting to supervisor on different aspects as will be required from time to time.
• Good communication to supervisor and cold room team
• Managing of all the activities taking place at the cold store

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor in Horticulture or Logistics course or any other course with Management and Administration
• Experience of 3 years and above in production field in horticultural industry will be added advantage.
• Computer Literate with basics in using any ERP program, (MS Excel, MS word)
• Strong Communication, planning, Managing, leadership, and customer service skills.
