About UNICEF Project:

KCCA with the support from UNICEF is implementing together with UYDEL a social protection programme for adolescent girls in the city through the adolescent girls’ cash plus mentoring and empowerment programme to improve their social and economic inclusion, and protection.

 

Job Summary:  UYDEL is searching for an Assistant Monitoring Evaluation Officer to support in data collection, analysis and tracking of project performance for the out of school adolescent girls in 5 divisions of Kampala.

 

The Assistant Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will be responsible for data collection, analysis and tracking project performance as well as reporting for several projects. He / She will also ensure quality implementation throughout the project cycle.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the M&E in the Coordination of the implementation of monitoring, evaluation & learning initiatives for the Project including, development of Project indicators, monitoring frameworks, tools and guidelines.
  • Assist in the Development of project work plan and log frames to inform project planned outcomes and objectives.
  • Prepares M&E quarterly progress reports on the Projects’ monitoring, evaluation & research initiatives for quarterly reporting.
  • Responsible for data collection and analysis of different data in relation to the project activities.
  • Work closely with the present team and other partners including KCCA, UNICEF and TMF.
  • Present feedback to the program coordinator and M&E Officer on the program activities and strategies.
  • Monitor program activities on the monthly basis including relations of both Lead and Peer mentors and out of school girls’ mentees.
  • Assist programme M&E under KCCA and EPRI with tools and supporting in their use.
  • Facilitate organizational learning by developing, collecting and disseminating relevant internal and external project information on monitoring, evaluation & research.
  • Effective representation of UYDEL at the partner meetings locally as communicated and delegated by the project coordinator.
  • Assist in the Documentation of project good/best practices through photographs, success stories, case studies and experiences for submission to the project coordinator and M & E officers every month.
  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annual reports and monthly time sheets to project coordinator and M&E Officer




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant should possess a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Population and Demography, Statistics, Development, Social Sciences, Monitoring and Evaluation or any other relevant field;
  • At least two years of experience in design and implementation of monitoring, evaluation and research initiatives
  • Working knowledge of environment and current effective practice on monitoring, evaluation and research approaches;
  • Possess excellent computer literacy skills in Excel, Epi Info/ data, MS Access, SPSS and other statistical packages.
  • Experience in developing and coordinating data collection, processing and analysis system.
  • Excellent communication skills, both in written English and in face-to-face presentations
  • Excellent communication skills in Luganda
  • Excellent skills in report writing and project documentation; and
  • Prior experience in using data management systems;
