Our partners are Total E&P Uganda (33.3%) and Tullow Oil (33.3%). CNOOC International operates the Kingfisher production license.
Job Summary: The Junior Safety Engineer will provide support to the company’s safety and quality management activities and ensure they meet the requirements of the relevant laws and regulations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in the preparation of safety management policies and standards for the Company.
- Participate in the preparation and implementation of Safety Annual Plans (Safety Inspection, Training and Audit) for the Company.
- Organize Safety activities (Inspection, training publicity, etc.) as per the company requirements.
- Prepare Department Safety and Quality reports generated from onsite data on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis in a timely manner.
- Participate in the onsite safety and quality risk identification and control, and attend onsite Safety supervision and risk control.
- Participate in fire preventive management and assist in establishing fire management procedures, fire brigade management, fire equipment and system management.
- Review preventive management plan and organize the inspection, maintenance and upgrade of all fire-fighting equipment.
- Organize and coordinate the related safety communication meetings/workshops and prepare the related Power Point Presentations.
- Participate in the emergency drills, emergency inspections and emergency training according to the emergency plan and perform emergency response responsibilities.
- Conduct incident/accident investigations and analyze the root cause to prepare accident reports.
- Organize Accident case studies and share the related good practice to other departments and contractors. Provide support in completing safety and quality performance evaluation.
- Perform other tasks assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Oil and Gas Engineering, Safety and Quality Management or the related.
- A minimum of three to four years of working experience, preferably in the Oil and Gas Industry.
- NEBOSH Certification is an added advantage.
- Extensive knowledge of QHSE Management System Development and Review.
- Good knowledge of Ugandan, Chinese and International QHSE laws, regulations and criteria.
- Good understanding of the process and technology of HSE management in Oil and Gas.
