Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) is an independently governed institute within the College of Health Sciences at Makerere University and has the mission “To strengthen health systems in Africa, with a strong emphasis on infectious diseases, through research and capacity development.” IDI has operations across Uganda as well as in a number of other African countries and has a staffing of over 1,000 managing multiple projects in research, clinical services, public health and training.
Job Summary: The study runner will be required to give overall support to both the clinical and administrative teams on the study. The individual should be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Planning of study meetings
- Implementation of study activities
- Support data collection
- Ensure data quality control and assurance
- Support data management and analysis.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant should hold a Bachelor’s and / Master’s level training in Statistics and Public Health.
- Experience in Clinical and Population- based research
- Experience in data management and analysis using statistical software packages
- Speed and accuracy at performing tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team
- Excellent communication skills organizational skills
- Flexibility to work long hours which may occasionally extend beyond normal working hours in order to complete critical tasks.
