Job Title:    Claims Risk Assessor (Fresher Jobs)

Statewide Insurance Company Limited (SWICO) is a Ugandan based Leading Insurance Company with branches all over the Country.

 

Job Summary:  The Claims Risk Assessor will evaluate and review all aspects of the insurance claim such as property material damages, personnel injuries, legal liabilities, time loss liabilities, police reports and medical reports to ensure the claimant receives justifiable compensation.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Obtaining all necessary information on claims for the purpose of claim processing.
  • Uncovering fraudulent claim scheme
  • Investigate claims and determine extent of damages
  • Developing and maintaining a strong understanding of claim policies and legal issues
  • Recommend claims that require further investigation in order to resolve them appropriately
  • Proactively seeking to clarify and resolve claims using the best method of communication and initiative
  • Protecting the interest of SWICO when dealing with claimants.
  • Communicating with the policyholder to gain the facts and details about the claim.
  • Assessing the value of assets involved in the claim and guide the company on compensation
  • Reviewing asset damages done to an asset to determine the appropriate compensation such as repairs, replacements or reinstatements.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution
  • At least three years of experience in mechanical engineering from a reputable organization
  • High analytical skills to critically analyze and examine damages, and conduct investigations
  • Good mathematical skills to effectively assess damages
  • Good planner and time manager
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills to effectively talk to claimants and interview witnesses
  • Sense of fairness
  • Strong and particular attention to detail to analyze property damages
