Job Title:  Data Analyst (4 Jobs) 

Organisation: Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL)

Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda

Reports to:  Senior GIS Officer (SGISO)

 

About US:

The Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) is a limited liability company incorporated in Uganda under the Companies Act. UEDCL owns the 33KV and below voltage electricity distribution network and all the operational assets associated with the business currently leased to Umeme Ltd. The company monitors Umeme Ltd’s investment and distribution of power in Nine Service Territories covering over 74 Political Districts; it operates the Pole Treatment Plant at Lugogo, and also executes some Rural Electrification Schemes on behalf of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development.

 

Job Summary:  The Data Analyst will carry out compilation, cleanup and reconciliation of all Distribution System assets data and monitor and coordinate data field assets data capture exercises ongoing.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the ongoing field data capture exercises and take part in data collection as instructed.
  • Make updates to the GIS database with collected and cleaned assets data from the field and subsequently align the fixed assets data to the assets financial data/records from the Finance department.
  • Advice the supervisor on identified asset management risks and make proposals to safe guard the network assets.
  • Engage with key stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure smooth execution of field data collection activities on the distribution system.
  • Prepare half-month reports and monthly reports on the distribution system assets database in accordance with the prevailing UEDCL Policies and Procedures.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal candidate should preferably hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Finance/Accounting, Geographical information System (GIS) or it’s equivalent from a recognized university.
  • At least three years of experience in a recognized organization in a similar position working with ESRI GIS software.
  • Experience in setting up and maintaining GIS systems.
  • Excellent Skills in using Microsoft Office Excel and Word applications.
  • Excellent analytical and monitoring skills.
  • Must be ready and able to travel all over the country
  • Must have valid driving license with driving experience of more than 3 years
