Job Summary: The Audit Corporate Manager will ensure that all audit assignments are carried out to the highest standards in order to provide outstanding value to clients and the Firm; develop high-performing people and teams, leading and supporting them to make an impact that matters; and setting the direction to deliver exceptional client service.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the Partner on delivery of designated engagements and managing the implementation of the agreed deliverables;
- Manage work in progress on engagements and ensure billings are timeously done and collections followed up;
- Leverage a deep understanding of audit services and stakeholder needs to deliver high quality engagements;
- Manage engagement budgets through accurate budgeting, cost control and profitability management;
- Perform risk assessment procedures to provide a basis for the identification and assessments of risk of material misstatement;
- Assist in the preparation of proposals/tenders and presentations on request;
- Generate innovative solutions on projects / engagements in collaboration with team members to enhance / renew service offerings to clients;
- Raise issues with the Partner as identified in area of focus that may affect the quality of delivery or timelines of the engagement;
- Identify opportunities for follow-on work and work with management to win the business;
- Develop client presentations/discussion documentation;
- Actively build business relationships that generate leads;
- Gather information to understand broader offerings of Deloitte and seek opportunities for cross-selling;
- Raise solutions to address issues in area of expertise that may enhance/renew service offerings to clients;
- Maintain quality and timeous delivery as per Service Level Agreement;
- Communicate regularly with both the Engagement Manager and clients to meet deliverable expectations in specific area of expertise;
- Develop productive working relationships with client staff;
- Proactively identify client needs and problem technical issues that arise and propose resolutions to address these;
- Manage risk in area of engagement in alignment with Deloitte policies;
- Consistently review and analyse accuracy and quality of own deliverables;
- Maintain clear communication channels with engagement team members on work status;
- Share expertise and knowledge with team members and assist where possible to ensure quality and timeous delivery of work;
- Mentor junior members of the team;
- Maintain own development and knowledge in specialised area; and
- Comply with auditing and accounting standards, relevant laws and regulations (including specific local laws and regulations), ethical standards, independence requirements and the audit firm’s quality control procedures.

- Make appropriate use of tools, guidance and methodology – Deliver high quality audits via a number of enablers.
- Manage project plans to optimize engagements – Develop and manage project plans to executing high quality audits
- Formulate reasonable judgements and conclusions in order to deliver informative and timely outputs.
- Apply Ethical and Professional Standards – Compliance with auditing and accounting standards, relevant laws and regulations (including specific local laws and regulations), ethical standards, independence requirements and the audit firm’s quality control procedures

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university;
- A recognized accounting qualification such Certified Public Accountants (CPA) and Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA);
- A Master’s degree will be an added advantage
- Thorough knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards and International Auditing Standards;
- Proficient in Auditing software;
- At least 6 years’ professional audit working experience;
- Experience with an internationally recognised auditing firm is an added advantage; and
- Be a Ugandan citizen or eligible to work in Uganda.
