Job Title: Personal Banker (2 Fresher Jobs)

Duty Station: Kampala and Arua, Uganda

Reports to: Branch Manager

Job Summary:  The Personal Banker will market the Bank’s products through pro-active and consultative approaches with the aim  of acquiring profitable new Banking business.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

 Inbound NTB/ETB sales

  • Address walk-in NTB Clients (any segment) sales needs, pull generated from catchment campaigns and word of mouth.
  • Activate NTB clients, and set up and educate clients on remote channel usage i.e. Internet banking, Fast pay, contact centre, ATM.
  • Listen, explain &sell

Understand needs

  • Explain respective banking proposition that fits their ongoing need.

Deep sell

  • Immediately broaden the conversation to include all products.

Prepare, set up & activate

  • When required documents are available
  • Conduct KYC
  • Open account/activate products
  • Tag clients to the right segment.

Service

  • Fulfil basic service needs and pass on rest to CSO.
  • Deepening activities
  • Listen, explain& sell.
  • Understand the needs of the clients
  • Explain proposition that fits need (respond to client need and do next best conversation)
  • Refer for specialized needs
  • Pre-identified employees from employers targeted by WPB
  • Employees (no pre-identification) from employers targeted by WPB.
  • Reaching out pro-actively for lower value businesses

Target Clients

  • SME, High Net worth and personal with simple product needs (e.g. Business account Txn account, personal lending, CASA) and simple KYC requirements.
  • Deepening needs of personal clients.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree preferably from a recognized university.
  • A post graduate degree or a professional qualification will be an added advantage.
  • At least one year of work experience in the banking sector
  • Experience in sales and cash handling.
  • In-depth knowledge of banking industry
  • Knowledge of banking products
  • Understanding KYC
  • Knowledge of Credit and Marketing
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Effective Interpersonal Skills
