Uganda Institute of Banking and Financial Services (UIBFS) is a Centre of Excellence in Financial Services Training in Uganda. The Institute is designed to promote professionalism, and inclusion through market-led training, research, and consultancy to providers and users of financial services. The Institute’s training programs cover Professional, Short & Executive, Specialized, and Post Graduate Courses.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing information and communications technology (ICT) strategy and making decisions about the ICT systems utilized in line with the Institute’s objectives and budget.
- Lead IT projects, including the design and deployment of new IT systems and services
- Monitor the performance of information technology systems to determine cost and productivity levels, and to make recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure
- Help define IT infrastructure strategy, architecture, and processes
- Analyze business requirements by partnering with key stakeholders across the Institute to develop solutions for IT needs
- Assess vendors and develop test strategies for new hardware and software
- Testing, troubleshooting, and modifying information systems so that they operate effectively
- Coordinating technology installations, upgrades, and maintenance.
- Evaluating ICT risks to develop a network disaster recovery plan and backup procedures in line with the policies, guidelines, and the Law.
- Managing the performance and development of supervisees.
- Perform any other duties assigned

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: Applicants should be Ugandans holding:
- An honors degree in Information Technology or computer science or computer engineering and other relevant courses from a recognized University
- Postgraduate Degree in Information Systems or Business Administration or relevant management courses
- Professional certification such as ITIL, MCSE, CCDP, or equivalent
- Membership with an IT professional body
- Applicants should have a minimum of Six (6) years of work experience, with a minimum of three (3) years in a supervisory position in the field of ICT development and implementation gained from a reputable organization
- Competencies in IT infrastructure setting and Management, Computer networks, network administration, and network installation, Hardware Installation, cabling installation and support, wireless technology applications and interface, IT security
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows software, including server, office, and exchange
- Management and leadership skills
- Multitasking and time management skills, ability to prioritize tasks,
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Flexible working hours.
