Job Summary: The Tally Clerk will be responsible for recordkeeping of harvested poles. This includes measurement and moisture checks.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- In charge of the verification of delivered poles and quality checks.
- Regular moisture content checks
- Recordkeeping of the quality and measurements of stacked poles
- Liaising with the stock/quality controller and harvesting supervisor on quality checks and documentation
- Supervising Stack activities and monitoring the execution of instructions.
- Compliance with health & safety requirements including the use of protective gear.
- Dispatch of poles to Pole plant for treatment

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a qualification in wood science and/or knowledge of wood products and or wood science will be a distinct advantage
- Two years of related work experience
- Proven ability to organise, plan and monitor activities.
- Ability to work with a moisture meter, calliper and measuring tape with accuracy.
- English proficiency
- Supervisory skills and the ability to deal with disciplinary matters.
- Proven ability to submit accurate and consistent reports
