About USAID Project:
The purpose of the USAID Learning Activity (ULA) is to further strengthen USAID/Uganda’s performance and improve the performance of its implementing partners, with a focus on collaborating, learning and adapting, in order to enhance the impact and sustainability of USAID-supported contributions to Uganda’s development.
Job Summary: The CLA and Knowledge management assistant will support the CLA Program Advisor in implementing adaptive management activities for the ULA Activity. This includes taking notes at meetings and events, promoting the CLA approach among ULA Program Advisors, and supporting the development of learning briefs and workshop reports. The assistant will work with the Home Office to ensure a robust and complete SharePoint-based Knowledge Management System is in place and that it is well-organized and populated enough to contribute to ULA Activity reporting.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the CLA Program Advisor in the implementation of adaptive management activities under the ULA Activity. This may include:
- Note-taking at meetings and events.
- Promote the CLA approach amongst ULA Program Advisors through information sharing and other means, such as case story sharing, planning for internal CLA moments such as pause and reflect etc.
- Support the development of learning briefers, workshop reports, and other document preparation as requested by the supervisor.
- With Home Office collaboration and guidance from Directors, ensure a robust and complete Sharepoint-based Knowledge Management System; ensure this system is well organized and populated enough to contribute to ULA Activity reporting and ensure the capacity to share final products with home office and USAID.
- Support the CLA Program Advisor in assigned tasks associated with ongoing monitoring, evaluation, and learning assessments, including documentation.
- Support the organization and logistical planning for knowledge-sharing and learning events such as MEL clinics, co-creation workshops etc
- Contribute to the development of documentation of Activity tasks and results to contribute to monitoring ULA’s work and semi-annual and annual reports.
- Contribute to learning products including technical publications, reports, briefs, updates/newsletters, brochures, presentations, videos, posters, and social media content as requested.
- Support other Learning and Performance tasks as requested and assigned.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, statistics, Economics administration, or a related area
- At least three years of experience and skilled in USAID’s policies and procedures.
- Ability to build consensus and relationships among managers, partners, and employees.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize work assignments, meet deadlines, and exercise professional judgment and excellent time management.
- Team player and strong collaborative skills
- Strong training and interactive tools such as Mural, Jamboard, and Zoom.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SUITE
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Attention to detail.
