About US:
Uganda Institute of Banking and Financial Services (UIBFS) is a Centre of Excellence in Financial Services Training in Uganda. The Institute is designed to promote professionalism, and inclusion through market-led training, research, and consultancy to providers and users of financial services. The Institute’s training programs cover Professional, Short & Executive, Specialized, and Post Graduate Courses.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a strategy for promoting Professional Development in the financial sector as per the Institute’s mandate
- Develop, and implement programs and policies that promote training excellence and partnership in the Institute
- Oversee planning, development, and implementation of short courses, and academic and professional courses programs.
- Lead the development of competence frameworks for the various financial sector and promote their implementation in the sector
- Undertake a periodic critical selfassessment and evaluation of the Institute’s training and professional development programs
- Develop and implement a criterion for identifying and recruiting competent resource personnel for all the courses offered by the Institute
- Establish monitoring and measurement mechanisms to evaluate the effectiveness of all professional development efforts
- Develop and implement a strategy for partnering with donor Agencies and financial services players in the joint development of training programs as well as the generation of proposals to access funding.
- Prepare and implement a budget for the Directorate of Professional Development as per the Institute’s financial management policies
- Chair management academic committees on academic programs and examinations
- Design and implement a mechanism for identifying risks and associated mitigation plan for Professional Development Directorate
- Prepare regular Management, Board reports and attend Board Meetings on the invitation
- Monitor the staff performance under your jurisdiction, and provide coaching and mentoring for better staff performance
- Perform other lawful duties as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: Applicants should be Ugandans holding:
- An Honor’s degree in, Education related courses or Human Resource Management or Organizational Psychology or Organizational Development (OD) or Business related courses or any other related field from a recognized university.
- A Master’s qualification in any of the courses above
- Membership in a relevant professional association (s)
- Applicants should have a minimum of eight (8) years of working experience with at least 4 years must have been at the manager level handling training function in finance related Institutions or Head of the department in a reputable training Institution
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of modern training methods (including workshops, simulations, e-learning, and coaching)
- Experience in organizing training activities in a corporate environment, project management and budgeting
- Proficiency in Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Partnership Management, Stakeholder Management, People Management, Risk Management, Customer Relationship Management, and Organizational Strategizing
