About the Young Professionals Program:
One Acre Fund’s Young Professionals Program offers high-performing African graduates meaningful internships and training opportunities at a high-performing, mission-driven organization. Our internships are paid and all interns can expect to receive substantive work assignments working on high-impact projects that support One Acre Fund’s operations.
When joining, interns will participate in an onboarding program and receive training on how to design and execute projects. Over the period of your internship, you will get the opportunity to work with like-minded individuals and receive learning opportunities to build strong foundations for your future career.
Job Summary: This is part of One Acre Fund’s Young Professional’s Program focused on developing top talents within six (6) months, with the possibility of converting into full-time roles dependent on performance within the organization. The job location is Jinja, Uganda. You will report to the Uganda People Operations Lead and help manage the Corporate Operations department and provide Team management support for the Tree program following One Acre Fund policies to retain great people. You will also support projects to create higher levels of employee engagement and employee experience. This is a fully on-site role.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Corporate Operations Systems development
- Review the status of existing system required for CRO operations and make improvements to support department goal achievement
- Work with the Corporate Operations lead to review key systems to support department goals
- Collaborate with the Corporate Operations team to create required systems
- Ensure systems and trackers are up to date.
Corporate Operations Team Management
- Supervise the daily execution in duties for the Corporate Operations process, create solutions and manage the team
- Work with People lead to create monthly priorities and work plans for the team
- Supervise the execution according to work plans
- Provide first point of contact to team to support in resolution of challenges
Tree Program Meetings
- Organize for field staff district meetings
- Attend weekly Trees Operations and Strategy meetings
Team Support and Management
- Make payment and procurement requests for field team facilitation
- Manage databases for staffing, field inventories
- Support Execution & Impact Senior Supervisor in field team problems resolution and performance management
Field Execution
- Participate in field visits at least 3 times per month to support with field execution monitoring
- Support in inputs distribution activities including planning, document printing and data entry.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- One year of HR Generalist experience / administration
- Solid Knowledge of Excel/ google suite
- You are DEI-centered and have a passion for supporting teams.
- Interest in data management / data systems and data-driven decision-making
- Eligibility: This role is only open to citizens or permanent residents of Uganda.
Benefits: Interns will be provided with a reasonable stipend for the duration of their contract. Rural area based fellows will be provided assistance in locating suitable housing.
