Reports to: Officer Finance

 

About US:

The Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Authority (PPDA) is established under the PPDA Act No.1 of 2003 to develop standards and regulate procurement and disposal practices in respect of all Procuring and Disposing Entities which include Central Government Ministries and Departments, Local Governments, State Enterprises, Constitutional and Statutory Bodies and post primary training institutions.

 

Job Summary:  The Assistant Officer, Finance will efficiently and effectively manage cash resources ensuring availability of cash to meet the Authority’s day to day operational needs.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process sales transactions,
  • Calculate the cost of products or services,
  • Receive and receipt payments to the Authority,
  • Calculate and return change when required by the payment method,
  • Maintain adequate change denominations in the cash drawer and request additional change,
  • Reconcile cash drawers and sales receipts, and
  • Undertake any other assignments as may be directed from time to time.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold an Honours Bachelors’ Degree in Commerce, Business Administration or related field.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a finance related field
  • Attention to detail,
  • Customer service skills,
  • High level of professionalism and ethics,
  • High numeracy skills, and
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Desk Items (Advanced spreadsheet knowledge).
