About US:
Makerere University College of Health Sciences, School of Public Health (MakSPH), Department of Epidemiology & Biostatistics, in conjunction with UVRI-IAVI HIV Vaccine Program is conducting a phase Ill randomized clinical trial on Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis for HIV whose short name is PURPOSE-1.
Job Summary: The project requires the services of a qualified, licensed, hard-working and reliable driver.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the assigned project vehicle is in good mechanical condition, has all the required statutory clearances and is road-worthy at all times
- Provide safe, comfortable and reliable transportation of staff, participants and logistics
- Perform periodic project vehicle maintenance support roles on the assigned vehicle, including preparation and submission of accurate maintenance records
- Ensure proper documentation of the assigned project vehicle movements
- Hand deliver biological samples to designated laboratories in a timely manner
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor or the Principal Investigator but within the limits of the expected responsibilities of a driver

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A minimum academic qualification of A’ level (UACE) certificate
- At least five years of progressive work experience in a similar position
- A valid driving license is a MUST
- Ability to work for long hours
- A recommendation letter from LCl Chairperson of area of residence
