Job Summary:  Enabel in Uganda is looking for a passionate and dynamic individuals to fill 2 vacancies for D4D and Innovation Officer. The D4D and Innovation Officer (s) will coordinate the implementation of the D4D (Digitalisation for Development) activities for Enabel in Uganda

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• You constantly assess the availability of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) equipment, status of internet connectivity, etc.) In order to improve the Beneficiary Organization’s (BO’s) adaptation to Digitalization for Development (D4D) initiatives.
• You prepare terms of reference and budget for the implementation of the D4D activities
• You ensure permanent monitoring of D4D activities within the partner institutions and they transition from traditional processes to digital programs.
• You apply design thinking and/or action research to design, pilot and scale creative and impactful solutions.
• You promote the use of digital technologies (EdTech) to digitalize and improve teaching in secondary and nursing schools
• You support the creation of a pipeline for business ideas with high growth potential in agri-business or the green economy

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• The applicant must hold a Master’s degree in human sciences related fields (preferably in adults’ education, educational sciences, development studies, human resources, sociology, etc.)
• Complementary asset: Degree in engineering or ICT or related field (such as Information Technology, Business Computing)
• At least five years of experience in implementing D4D activities in the public sector
• At least two years of experience with or knowledge of the functioning of digital/innovation eco-systems is an asset.
• Proven experience in development of E-learning (management of online courses – specifically on a learning management system, implementing course with a blended/hybrid approach, mobile application, etc.)
• Experience in Human Capacity Development
• Broad and in-depth understanding of the various aspects of international cooperation (context, challenges, strengths, partners, functioning, etc.);
• Knowledge of the latest trends in education technology
• Knowledge of Open Educational Resources (OER)
• Knowledge of how MOOCS (Massive Open online courses) operate
• You are flexible and can work in a changing environment
• Excellent understanding of the design thinking approach and action research
• Good knowledge of the different entrepreneurship approaches
• Excellent interpersonal- and communication skills to interact with different stakeholders
• Out of the box thinking is an asset
