Job Summary: The SME Manager will own the principle accountability for sales, service and control within the allocated SME Area, so as to optimise the business potential within the market, ensure customer retention, new business recruitment and SME portfolio growth in line with Retail Banking business objectives.

Business Growth
- Execution of SME Business strategy considering the growth potential, competitor activity and the existing customer base.
- To define measurable SME business growth objectives, business performance routines, management of products and measures for sales and service.
- Recruit and manage high value customers to grow the SME portfolio as per allocated targets.
- To implement the SME sales culture in the allocated region and synergies with other business units.
- Responsible for the first level development of business cases and the analysis of market potential.
- Support recruitment and development of a competent Business Banking team in allocated branches.
- Put in place mechanisms of ensuring availability and efficiency of market intelligence gathering tools, to enable us stay in touch with competitor activity.
- To mentor and coach Business Bankers for business performance in the allocated branches.
- Identify Business Banker skill gaps and recommend appropriate training.
- Ensure all aspects of risk relating to Credit, KYC, reputation and operations are mitigated.
Daily responsibilities:
- Customer visits in alignment with Retail SME strategy
- Credit paper write up noting quality and TAT
- Manage relationships with service providers and stakeholders.
- Daily monitoring and follow up for recovery of loan arrears
- Reporting of important daily business activities

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree
- Business related qualification
- Professional Qualifications
- Master’s Degree
- At least five years of related work experience
