Sinopec Service Uganda is engaged in the provision of all project phases service for various sectors, including oil & gas, power, buildings, roads and bridges etc. We are looking for Construction and Project support personnel.
Successful candidates with relevant experience and recognized expertise in large onshore/offshore oil and gas EPC projects will be preferred. The working environment is multicultural and demands considerable experience in the project process working with International Clients and Contractors. Strong communication skills, fluent spoken and written English, and Chinese competency will be a plus.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: The IVMS Coordinator is responsible for;
- Ensuring that all Company and Subcontractor vehicles qualified to be fitted with IVMS are identified and the correct programming criteria is adhered to as per agreed procedures.
- Ensuring the IVMS Vehicle Data sheet is correctly populated and maintained throughout the Project Cycle.
- Any vehicle violation is recorded, reported and the appropriate disciplinary process is adhered to.
- Ensuring all Project vehicle IVMS monitoring and driving data analysis are established according to the criteria.
- Updating the procedure in line with any changes to the existing procedures, policies and road risk assessment requirements.
- Providing monthly assessments on data used to analyse the continuous driving improvement program across the Project.
- Collates monthly Project vehicle IVMS reports to issue to Project Client.
- Ensuring Subcontractors follow up with the IVMS provider for implementation and upgrade of the IVMS system.
- Learning, understanding, and complying with project HSSSE management policy, leading by example and encouraging every project employee shall be involved, and will ensure the effective implementation of our HSSSE principles to assist us in achieving our established goals of zero incidents, minimal impact on the environment and gaining the respect and trust of the local communities.
- Learning, understanding, and complying with all HSSSE procedures, rules, and practices which are always applicable to employees’ actions whether at or away from the workplace.
- Work closely with relevant parties to maintain optimum levels of communication to effectively and efficiently complete all task assigned by the department manager.
- Provide technical advice in relation to the development, implementation and monitoring of HSSSE plans and procedures.
- Understand that any employee who jeopardizes their safety and health and /or the safety and health of others shall be subject to disciplinary action (including immediate termination of employment).
- Conduct workplace inspections and enforce compliance with project HSSSE management plans and safety procedures. Audit and monitor construction activities compliance with project HSSSE procedures.
- Performed regular safety hazard assessments to reduce risks and promote positive behaviors at all levels.
- Used critical thinking to break down problems, evaluate solutions and make decisions.
- Creates work reports for daily, weekly, and monthly reporting. 16. Any other project HSSSE relevant duties as may be assigned by department manager from time to time.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 5 years similar working experience.
- Proficiency in IVMS and GPS devices
- Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Excellent communication and inter-personnel skills.
- Proficiency in English.
