Job Summary:  Tuko is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Transport and Recovery Services Logistics Manager to join the company. The ideal candidate should have a great passion for logistics and a proven track record in the transportation and recovery industry. This role is based in Kampala and requires deep understanding of the city and it’s transportation network.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee all transport and recovery operations within the city of Kampala
  • Ensure timely and efficient transportation and recovery services to clients
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve the overall transport and recovery operations.
  • Coordinate with other departments ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of transport and recovery operations, and implement improvements as needed.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and industry partners.
  • Oversee the management of resources, including vehicles, drivers, and equipment, to ensure optimal utilization and maintenance.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a bachelor’s degree in logistics, transportation, or a related field
  • At least five years of experience in the transportation and recovery industry, with experience in a leadership role
  • Thorough knowledge of the city of Kampala and its transportation network
  • Holds a valid driving license
  • Strong knowledge of transport and recovery operations and procedures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to make sound decisions in a timely manner
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
