Job Summary: The Manager Trade Finance will mainly develop, manage and execute the overall strategy for the bank’s Trade Finance business, monitor client satisfaction, develop a team of professionals with the right mix of profile, qualification and experience. Grow the Trade Finance portfolio and revenue as per the Bank’s objectives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in the design and formulation of the Trade Finance’s strategy, policies, procedures and guidelines in alignment with the division’s goals and ensure cascading and implementation of objectives across the team;
- Establish an effective Business Development & Marketing Plan and monitor their implementation; Underwriting
- Verify and support structuring of Trade Finance and Bank Guarantees facilities in line with policy
- Develop and deliver operational plans aligned with Trade Finance strategy and campaigns to enable delivery against set business targets.
- Manage collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders (e.g. co-locating capabilities) and ensure adherence to SLAs
- Manage, maintain and enhance measurement systems within the sales environment across all regions
- Develop, measure and review sales and performance targets on a quarterly / annual basis in conjunction with stakeholders.
- Stay abreast with the economic context, changes in the business, standards and industry.
- Business mobilisation, International Relationships for Trade Finance Transactions and Diaspora customers
- Prepare Trade Finance performance reports
- Train and hand hold the teams in structuring trade finance and cross selling Trade Finance related products to achieve the bank’s business aspirations.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a first University Degree in commerce, business administration. MBA or additional management qualification is an added advantage
- At least five years of practical and progressive experience in Trade Finance role 3 of which should have been at Supervisory level.
- Proven successful sales track record in the financial services industry.
- Advanced product knowledge including specialized products and financial structures. Advanced experience and knowledge in Credit and Compliance matters.
- Good negotiating skills and conflict handling.
- Significant people management experience – leading teams and motivating people
