Job Summary:  The Driver is primarily responsible for, but is not limited to, the efficient and satisfactory provision of driving services to the USAID/Domestic Revenue Mobilization for Development (DRM4D) Activity. The position requires a high degree of confidentiality in dealing with staff matters.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Driving Project Vehicles
  • Transport staff, official passengers, assets, and other materials in a safe manner and report to supervisor on return.
  • Ensure the safe custody of all vehicles assigned and driven.
  • Ensure the regular recording of all trips made, and the endorsement of passengers (if any) or authorizing officer in the vehicle logbook.
  • Report any vehicle damages or faults in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the timely and proper repairs, service, and maintenance of the vehicles assigned in an efficient manner.
  • Check and provide regular reports/endorsements on vehicle repairs, service, and maintenance undertaken by the authorized vehicle repair vendors.
  • Provide information or clarification (where necessary) to the Operations Officer in the preparation of the monthly vehicle fuel consumption report and monthly vehicle maintenance and repair report.
  • Ensure vehicles have parking tickets/coupons.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education
  • At least five years of working experience as a Driver in a busy office.
  • Capacity to deal with multiple tasks, be able to adhere to tight deadlines in a busy environment, and excellent time management skills,
  • Sound knowledge of and experience in defensive driving,
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and fluency in English
