Job Title: Senior Human Resource Officer

Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) is a private, not-for-profit, non-denominational international development agency of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). AKF works in collaboration with partners to develop and promote innovative solutions that help improve the quality of life of communities in areas we work. This is achieved through a systemic and Multi-Input Area Development programming approach that responds to the opportunities and priorities of a given area with long-term and synergised interventions. Specifically in Uganda, AKF currently supports programming in education, early childhood development (ECD) and strengthening civil society.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Organizational Psychology, or in any related field.
- At least seven years of HR technical experience OR a Master’s degree, 5 years experience in HR in a well-established NGO or private sector
- Post-graduate Human Resource qualification or relevant professional certification is an added advantage
- High level of maturity, emotional intelligence, integrity, good judgement, ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive issues
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, negotiation, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well in a team and particularly a team across multiple geographies
- Passion for people, culture, change management and current knowledge on emerging issues/ trends in the workplace e.g., hybrid policies. .
- Capacity to work independently, with diligence, take initiative and manage a variety of activities simultaneously while meeting reporting deadlines
- Strong familiarity in working using online and digital technologies including proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (SharePoint, Teams, Excel) and HRIS systems.
