Job Summary: The HSSSE Traffic Officer will report to the HSSSE Manager and assist in the implementation and monitoring of the Project HSE Plan.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities of this position include:
- Conduct vehicle inspection every week with a report filed and any actions required are booked and work is carried out without disrupting daily operations
- Submit daily vehicle movement reports
- Design Traffic Diversion Plans as per local traffic regulations
- Develop Traffic Management Plans for the project
- Where new drivers are recruited, lead the training, and ensure competency of the driver before deployment
- Perform vehicle registration, insurance, and documentation regarding induction of new vehicles
- Develop and implement standard operational standards to maintain vehicles by advocating best practices in industry
- Responsible to travel to the scene of accidents, a thorough investigation of the scene is to be carried out and documented, remaining neutral and only place fact not assumption into the accident/incident report
- Also ensure that the police arrive and make their report, participate in driver training and the driver’s performance appraisal
- Other basic HSSSE Engineer Duties to support the HSSSE Function
- Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree (Science discipline) or College Diploma (science discipline) with at least five years of similar working experience
- Familiarity with relevant local laws and regulations
- Familiar with road safety and road safety engineering.
- Familiar with Traffic Diversion Planning and Traffic Management
- Proficiency in MS Office; excellent communication and inter-personnel skills
- Must be fluent in English.
- Job related certificates holder, such as NEBOSH International Diploma will be an added advantage NEBOSH IGC / IOSHMS / OSHA etc.
- Successful candidates with relevant experience and recognized expertise in large onshore/offshore oil and gas EPC projects will be preferred.
- The working environment is multicultural and demands considerable experience in the project process working with International Clients and Contractors.
- Strong communication skills
