Job Summary:  The resurgence of COVID-19 pandemic between February and May 2021 severely overburdened the health system aggravating the pre-existing shortage of health workers and critical health commodities. Since then, Ministry of Health has worked with several partners at national level to support coordination and micro-planning efforts to effectively deliver the Accelerated Mass Covid-19 Vaccination Campaign (AMVC). In this regard, the ministry of health seeks to recruit Six (6) Regional data officers to provide support to the case management and vaccination pillars through routine collection and analysis of district level COVID-19 data.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To provide technical support on COVID-19 vaccination data related issues (Planning, Implementation and Evaluation).
  • To build capacity of the relevant stakeholders concerning COVID-19 Vaccination data through the provision of technical support to district biostatisticians and implementing partners on data analysis and reporting
  • Engage Districts and partners on the vaccination data entry and provide regular status reports to the COVID-19 Incident Management Team (IMT) and UNEPI.
  • Support MOH in collecting, collating, analyzing and providing feedback on Covid-19 vaccination data daily during vaccination campaigns
  • Support field teams in trouble shooting any tablet, laptop or system challenges to enable real time vaccination data capturing at the district by the data team
  • Provide recommendations and action plan to improve data quality and data management system.
  • Support the management of COVID-19 Vaccination information management systems including following up with and providing ongoing skills building technical support to users at district and facility level
  • Support implementation of new innovations in UNEPI program that are aimed at supporting COVID-19 vaccination as well other key interventions, e.g. Smart Paper Technology (SPT), Immunization and Data Quality Apps, dashboards, among others
  • Support the validation of data reported in the COVID-19 vaccination information management system through quality assurance mechanisms
  • Coordinate reporting of COVID-19 cases and deaths at the districts to the case management pillar at Ministry of Health
  • Any other duties as and when assigned by the supervisor
