Job Summary: The Human Resource Officer will oversee the various human resource functions, which include recruitment & Selection, training, and development, performance management, Reward management, employee experience, and wellness in coordination with the Head Office.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate end-to-end recruitment and selection in collaboration with the hiring managers, onboarding of new staff, and separation process.
- Maintain employee records (both soft & hard copies) and coordinate pre-employment checks.
- Provide support to supervisors and staff to develop the skills and capabilities of staff through training opportunities according to the training budget.
- Keenly monitor staff attendance through leave management and recommend solutions to chronic difficulties.
- Compensation & Reward Management by ensuring necessary statutory requirements, providing payroll data, coordination of quarterly reward and recognition.
- Performance management through administration of balance score cards to every employee, post probation reviews and KPIs to new staff in timely manner.
- Implement the HR strategy and policies
- Promote workplace health, safety & any related activities
- Co-ordinate the HR calendar of events and ensure employees have a great experience
- Provide support during Employee engagement surveys
- Organize the transitional provisions of employee compensation, pay and benefits when positions are transferred, or new positions are created within the company.
- Participate in conflict resolution among employees.
- Understand and interpret labour laws in Uganda for best practice.
- Prepare monthly reports on all HR functions assigned.
- Management of staff medical scheme, support of employees on all medical matters,
- Provide utility report and recommendations on a quarterly basis.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate must hold a Degree & Higher diploma in Human Resource Management or related field
- Three years of working experience in a busy environment.
- Ability to work independently and take full responsibility of assigned tasks.
- A registered member of HRMAU.
- Must be a Ugandan citizen
- A very good understanding of the labor laws
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective verbal and listening communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Analytical, decision making, and problem-solving skills.
- Act as a reliable and supportive team member
- Computer skills including the ability to spreadsheet and word-processing programs at a highly proficient level.
- Should be professionally groomed to reflect the brand image of the company.
