Mildmay Uganda is an indigenous Christian NGO that offers General and HIV/AIDS medical services also providing technical support for Ministry of Health Systems to scale up comprehensive HIV/AIDS Services.
Job Summary: The Health Systems Strengthening Specialist will be responsible for leading the design, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of evidence-based capacity building projects, contributing to the strengthening of Health Systems’ capacity to deliver quality, sustainable Health Services.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a degree in Health Care in any of the following fields; (Medicine Nursing, Midwifery, Clinical Medicine), with post graduate training in either Medical Education, MPH or Health Services management or related field, and must be registered with a valid practicing License from a relevant professional body.
- He/she should have training in human rights, sexual gender based violence and health systems strengthening.
- The successful candidate must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Project work (2 years inclusive at Coordinator level) especially donor funded projects focusing on health systems strengthening.
- He/she must have demonstrable experience in safe, inclusive, respectful, SRHR, SGBV and health-related services for the most vulnerable adolescent girls and women Experience/knowledge of Maternal Child health;
- Experience in grant writing and resource mobilization;
- Good understanding of principles of Training and mentorship;
- Knowledge of district systems;
- Knowledge of current WHO and MOH guidelines and ability to network and liaise with various partners at global and national level.
- The successful candidate must have knowledge/ability to communicate in the local language, and must be willing to reside in the District of operation.
