Kakira Sugar Limited (KSL) is a leading sugar manufacturer in Uganda. KSL boasts of two (2) sugar estates, one in Kakira – Jinja and the other in Kayunga.
Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced Vmware Administrator with experience in problem-solving and attention to detail. Willingness to be on call 24/7 and take on any other responsibilities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Migrating ESXi hosts / VM’s within HA cluster. Experience with vMotion.
- Perform Capacity and Performance reports for Cluster, Hosts, Storage, VM’s.
- Perform maintenance including updates, patches, performance tuning, Break-fi x, Health checks, and Troubleshooting for vSphere 6. x environment.
- Creating and managing storage, user accounts, and security.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
- Vmware Certifications- VCP -vSpehere, and/or VCAP.
- Three years of experience as a Vmware Administrator
- Experience with server hardware, networking, and firewall installation.
- Experience with VMware ESXi hosts, vCcenter, and associated tools.
- Ability to design, deploy, configure, manage and upgrade VMWARE infrastructure including storage.
- Expertise to troubleshoot all issues related to the VMware server infrastructure.
- Proficient in scripting ESX Server deployments for remote installation and security in a VMware Virtualized Environment.
- In-depth knowledge of backup and disaster recovery.
- Experience with Windows Server Administration and active directory.
- Ability to implement best practices and standards.
- Ability to mentor and train other team members in VMware.
- Experience documenting systems/solutions.
