SPOUTS of Water Ltd is a social venture that locally manufactures and distributes effective ceramic water filters to improve the access to clean drinking water sustainably in Uganda. In addition, we locally manufacture free hand-washing stations to improve access to hygiene. Our mission is to provide clean drinking water and hygiene services to all East Africans. We currently sell multiple water filter products under the brand name “Purifaaya”. The Purifaaya provides financial, social, and health benefits for its customers in addition to environmental benefits.
Job Summary: The IT & Systems Support Analyst, is responsible for providing IT & Helpdesk support to the users which includes, but not limited to Software and Hardware. Furthermore, He/she is responsible for Installing, configuring and repairing hardware and software, network monitoring and solving user submitted technical issues as they arise. The position is also responsible for record keeping in the I.T department which includes; an up-to-date Device log, Repair and maintenance logs, writing and filing department reports etc.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Preparing and fully coordinating IT and IT related trainings thus ensuring that all personnel have access to appropriate information technology tools by coordinating the installation, configuration and ongoing usability of system hardware and software.
- Communicate effectively with users to gather appropriate information regarding computer related problems.
- Setting up access accounts for staff and providing user training as required.
- Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers and scanners.
- Support the rollout of new software applications.
- Providing SPOUTS ERP Support solutions, solving the non-technical support requests that originate from the ERP System.
Contribute to providing a help-desk monitoring, maintenance and repair function to respond to all user requirements.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in person, remotely and via phone.
- Responding to all user helpdesk requests received by the I.T department in a timely and helpful manner.
- Providing operational support for IT department systems, policies and activities in line with business requirements.
- Communicate effectively with users to gather appropriate information regarding computer related problems.
- Run repairs and replacements on computer hardware
- Monitoring and maintaining computer networks by conducting regular speed tests, installing and replacing ethernet cables following the approved network policies.
- Coordinate with team members and external service providers to ensure solutions
- Maintaining records of device maintenance and repair logs.
Contribute to continuous improvement & development through review, research and recommendation to increase efficiency and general effectiveness.
- Identify computer and network equipment shortages, place orders, propose upgrades and improvements.
- Prepare reports from data platforms and analyse to ensure the availability of reliable and accurate data to ensure that systems are functioning normally.
- Sourcing and proposing new IT-related solutions that may promote efficiency in the office as well as maintain records of repairs and fixes and a routine maintenance schedule.
- Make timely decisions about the most efficient solutions to issues.
- Perform other tasks within the department as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Proven experience of at least 2 years of computer networking, Hardware and Software works, LAN, WLAN installation, configuration and helpdesk support.
- Preferred: Experience in working with these systems: Odoo ERP, G-Suite, Office Suite (Office 2019 Pro Plus & above) Router Admin Consoles, Windows OS (Client & Server Versions), WordPress Configuration, Website Portal Configuration Skills.
- Language requirements: High level of competence in spoken and written English language skills.
